Hydra is a short sea journey from Athens, and part of its charm is that it takes a little effort.
Step two
From Athens to Hydra
From Athens Airport, arrange a car, taxi or Uber to Piraeus Port, approximately 45 minutes depending on traffic. From there, the ferry to Hydra takes around 1.5 hours.
Check routes and book tickets through Ferryhopper. The full summer ferry schedule won’t be available until 2027.

Getting Around Hydra
There are no cars on Hydra. You'll get about on foot or by water taxi.
Hydra is car-free. Your hotel or villa host can help arrange a porter to take your luggage from the harbour to your accommodation. We recommend organising this ahead of your arrival.
